Alhaji Mu’azu Sambo the minister of transportation, on Friday 28 October disclosed that the Federal Government is set to generate 21 millions full time jobs and to lift 35 millions citizens off poverty by 2025 in a statement made by his special Assistant on media and publicity, Sam idigbonya. Sambo disclosed this at the so stated date earlier in an ongoing ministerial retreat at uyo Akwa ibom state.
According to him, the transportation sector is setting the stage for achieving the government commitment of lifting 100 millions Nigerian citizen off poverty in about 10 years to come. Sambo said infrastructure gaps in the sector development of the National development plans ; Medium Term Development plan 2021-2025 and a long term plan called the Nigeria agenda 2050.
In his statement he said “This is to invest massively in infrastructure, macro-economic stability, enhance investment environment, improve live condition and implement climate change mitigation”. This will generate 21 millions full time job and lift 35 millions people out of poverty by 2025, thereby achieving the government commitment of lifting 100 millions of Nigerian’s out of poverty in 10 years.
